To create this laser cut Bodhi leaf, I found an image of a Bodhi leaf on Pixabay, sent it through the Live Trace in Adobe Illustrator, and hand-vectorized the outline. I added a stem with a hole to that outline.
For the necklace, I cut out three leafs from 1/8" plywood and glued them together - the 2 outside leaves were etched, and the inner one was just the outline with the stem.
I suggest these improvements on my design: 1) 3/8" is thick! just cut 1 or 2 leaves, 2) thicken the end of the bodhi leaf so that it's less fragile - the wood can splinter easily down there.
