This is a quick to make laser cut airbrush paint bottle holder with 36mm holes and a 100mm or 50mm bottle depth. My settings for a 50W (peak) CO2 laser are:
The pictured box is made from 1/8" baltic plywood on the front and sides. The back is 1/8" hardboard to save money. The baltic birch was covered in masking tape before laser cutting. The text and graphics are cut as outlines in the tape. I airbrushed the tape with silver pearlized acrylic and let it dry a bit. Then I removed the tape surrounding the design and left the painted tape in place. Eventually this will be sealed or coated in mod podge but I needed to get back to painting so I left it natural for now.
The entire box leans at a angle to give clearance off the countertop. Heavy bottles can cause it to tip forward but you can glue a couple of chunks of metal on the legs of the stand to offset the bottle weight. A compromise to get the look I wanted.
The red outline in the Illustrator AI file is the 300mm x 500mm bed of my laser. I have also attached the AIT template I use for laser designs in case that is useful to someone. RDWorks 8 tips: Stroke Colors in Illustrator are interpreted as separate toolpaths for laser configuration. Stick to a simple color palette in your stroke colors and "Save A Copy" as an Illustrator CS format (not newer or older versions but the one called exactly "CS"). You can import .ai CS files directly into RDWorks 8.
