The AR-12 is often installed on fixed platforms, both ground-based and space-based. It is well suited for hitting lightly armored targets such as fighters, bombers and corvettes. It is also the main armament on the Robber type corvettes and additional armament for other ships. It can be installed on mobile platforms if necessary. There are known cases of installation on tanks as the main weapon.
