The file 'Land Rover Wolf 90 (Army) 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 8.5MB.
This continues my 'mini-series' on post-war Land Rovers used by the British Army in 1:76 scale. It is a model of the Wolf 90, that is still in service. It is the non-extended air intake variant (derivative may follow), again in the open-top version as I am struggling with the canvas covers and frames. The original design came from the SketchUp library, courtesy of Austin T., to whom the credit should go.
The design process was as before; SketchUp to select the parts of interest and to split them into printable bits, then Microsoft 3D Builder to correct errors and to manually strengthen where required (there was a fair amount to do on this one, guided by trial prints). I have started using MiniMagics to produce 2D views for dimensional checking - I find it very useful, even if it will not print the results (use screen capture). My thanks to this company for this additional tool.
The 'crewtop' which is the framework above the cab is fragile, and may not be quite the right size at the moment, as I had some issues with dimensional information.
First prints came out a bit overscale, so the drawings have been corrected. Further prints as soon as I can, with updated information if necessary. Suffering from bad stringing in the prints; not sure of the cause. Photo of crewtop is before I removed the supports - they are a bit fragile. May need to strengthen part.
Hope this is of interest!
As requested, I have cut open the engine compartment and removed the rear seats. There will still be some work to be done to ensure that all parts are thick enough for printing on some printers, but I hope that these additional two files are of use (body and bonnet).
