I've bought over 50 of these Sterilite 1642 containers (6qt Shoebox) for organizing all sorts of things. So, I thought I'd use a couple for underneath my printer on my Lack table. These containers can be had for under $1 each from Home Depot and other retailers so it makes for a great value. These are very solid little boxes. Avoid the boxes with curved lids (Model:1851) as those are poorly designed and the lids never stay on.

I have provided individual STLs for each part as well as a single STL with all the parts included. You'll need 2x Sides, 2x End Stops, and 1 Center for the Lack tables.

If you have an Original Prusa i3 Mk3 and are printing in PLA, please give the Gcode a try. It should deliver excellent results as I am using an excellent profile (MK3 Speed PLA) by Chris Warkocki. Let me know how it works out for you in the comments!

Compatible with this product, and similarly sized containers.

To use:

  1. Begin with a completely built LACK table. Similar tables should work fine also.
  2. Flip the table upside down.
  3. When mounting the rails, start with the center rail, get it centered equally between the legs. Be sure the rail is at a 90 degree angle to the front of the table and affix it with screws.
  4. Place one or both containers upside down on the table and use them as guides. The containers tend to bow out a little on the sides and you will want the side rails to push the side of the containers inward slightly. You can push the side rail tightly against the container and slide the drawer back and forth. Move the side rail away from the center just enough so that it slides freely. If the side rail is placed too far from the center rail, the containers will fall from the rails or will not hold any weight.
  5. You may place the end stops where you wish, this allows you to choose how far the containers will push in. Be sure each end stop is centered with it's container.
