The file 'KV-1 Tow Cable End 3D Printer Model' is (par, stl) file type, size is 1.5MB.
This is a 1/16th scale tow cable end. I modeled it off of the end of the plastic cables that come with the Heng Long RC KV-1 tank. I made the eye slightly larger so it would fit onto the towing loops without breaking.
I make the cables by stripping some copper wire, clamping one end in my vice, and the other in my drill chuck, and spinning it slowly until you get a nice looking cable.
For the best looking eye, print them vertically, tail-down.
For the strongest eye, print them laying face down.
It's a good idea to chase the holes with a drill bit before trying to thread the cable through them. Set the cable with super glue.
When chasing the holes with a drill, hold the eye by its base with some pliers. Drill from the eye side out the bottom.
I print at fine resolution setting.
