Summary

Parts required:

  • M5 * 20+ mm bolts or screws (2 pcs)
  • metal tube 10 mm diameter 120 mm length (walls 1 mm thick)
  • Optionally: M3*20 screws and M3 nuts (2 screw, 2 nuts)
  • Internal M5 thread cutting equipment

Assembly:

  • Remove plastic cover on top of Z-axis aluminium extrusion
  • Cut the M5 thread in two holes in the extrusion. Make sure the thread suits your M5 screws
  • Screw the handle in place using two M5*20 (or longer) screws
  • Cut the metal tube to needed length (for my fillament spools 12 cm is great)
  • Insert the tube into handle (it fits really tight, so i used a drill to screw it in)
  • Cover the end of tube with a stopper
  • Optionaly: drill two 3mm holes in the tube and screw it with M3 additionaly

Important:

  • Please don't hold the printer by the spool holder tube. It is not sequre enough
