The file 'Kinesis Freestyle Pro Keyboard Static Tenting Legs 3D Printer Model' is (stl, scad) file type, size is 2.1MB.

Summary

The Kinesis Pro is a good keyboard, but the legs are not. They allow for three tenting angles, but they shift around the table while you type which makes it hard to use. This thing replaces the tenting legs with a single mount that joins the two keyboard halves together.

Vertical tenting angle and horizontal split angle are configurable using customizer or openscad.

Required stuff

Printing

  • Print two bases. These connect to the bottom of each half of the keyboard. They just click in place.
  • Print one set of legs. The legs include four female ball sockets joints.

Gluing Together

The female ball sockets need to be glued to the bases on the flat side. Do the following without the bases attached to the keyboard.

  • Glue the front ball sockets to each base about a centimeter from the end of the base. let dry.
  • Attach the legs with the back ball sockets snapped into the back legs
  • Glue the back sockets to the base
