I just realized I never uploaded the 2 component parts so I have just uploaded a 35mm and a 55mm version of each. I also added a photo of the parts in use. The 35mm hanger holds the Kia charger wire without a problem. If you are running a higher amperage charger the wire diameter would be larger and may require the 55mm hanger.

I managed to get a test print of the new combined design. I have uploaded a couple of pictures that shows the new design beside the exact same size original design. I was able to cut off about 10mm of height by nesting the plug mount inside the cable hanger. This could also be printed with a deeper cable hanger and since the screw holes are counter bored and then chamfered (no support needed for the holes) it can be mounted using shorter screws.
Because the cable hanger has its own screw holes it can also be used on its own.

New idea. I decided that the plug holder could fit inside the hanger if I made its length adjustable and matched the length of the cord hanger. I redesigned the 2 parts so that they could fit together. The hanger and the plug mount need to be a matching pair for this to work properly. I have not test printed these so they are concept at this point. If you are interested in trying this let me know and I can upload the STLs.
To get a better idea of the idea I have uploaded a few images to help conceptualize the model.

Summary:

Got a used 2021 Kia Soul EV that had a level 1 charger but no mounting hardware so I thought I would create my own.

I designed a mount for the plug as well as a cable holder and a clip to hold the base.
Our house is an old A frame so I opted to mount the car plug on the sloped roof rather than on the wall. This way the handle sits parallel to the wall and is probably less likely to get bumped.

I also designed a cord hanger that can be used by itself or mounted together with the plug holder as a single unit. Long screws are necessary when using them together. Our house has cedar siding over ship-lap so I don't have to worry about screw anchors.

I made a slightly larger cable holder for a level 2 charger which uses a heavier cable. This unit is larger and since the screws would have to be 3" or longer I counter sunk the holes so shorter ones could be used. Due to the distance out from the wall it would probably not be a good idea to combine the cable holder and plug unit in this case. It would also require screws that are even longer.

For the EV charging unit itself, I opted to make smaller clips that the unit can clip into rather than a larger single clip. You need to print 2 of the EV Base Clips. Once the clips are printed you can snap them onto the charging unit and then measure the distance between screw holes. Use that distance to mark the wall and mount the clips. The box can then just snap into the mount.

The parts can all be printed without supports but the Plug Holder works better if it has a support under the retaining protrusion. Without the support at that point the filament slumps and the corner prints at a slight angle which makes the catch a little loose. Support under that area allows it to print cleanly and the fit is better.

A strong filament should be used and consider where the charger sits. Exposure to the sun and weather will have a major impact on the longevity of these parts. I am currently using PETG and the parts are in a protected area even though they are outside. I will still have to see how they hold up.

I also have a slanted cable holder that may be able to be used with the plug mount (as a combined unit,) The angle allows the use of slightly shorter screws, but I have not uploaded the STL since I have not test printed it. I added a picture of it. If anyone is interested in it let me know in the comments and I will upload it.
