After getting frustrated trying to get my keyhole router bit to work reliably, (really cheap one), I decided to try something else.
I designed this so it can be used on the edge of a 3/4" thick board to mount to a screw in a wall.
It will snugly fit into a 5/8" hole that's 1/2" deep. Definitely recommend using a forestner bit to drill the hole.
The screws will need to have a head no wider than 1/4" and a shank of about 1/8".
I applied a 5 minute epoxy to the hole then pressed in the plug. So far they're working great! I haven't tested how much weight these will support, but seem to be pretty sturdy as long as they're glued in securely.
Another thing that's nice about this over a keyhole router bit is that these should be more secure in the edge of a piece of plywood.
