Summary

I don't expect this to be the problem of millions out there, but for me it was a catastrophe waiting to happen: breakage of the 3/16" OD LDPE tube connecting my keg to the beer faucet. I have five faucets on the fridge door and tried to organize the tubing towards the hinge side to av minimize the load on the John Guest fittings. However, the inner faucet was a weak point, and I knew this would happen one day.
The good news: I didn't have a keg connected to this one at the moment - phew!
So I took some dimensions on the stack of fittings and modelled a weird-looking elephant trunk to mount on a threaded base around the shank and John Guest fittings.
It was more or less successfull on the first try, so I decided to just install it and let the next guy improve the design.
Improvement areas:

  • Drain/vent holes on top and bottom - I meant to make them but just forgot and drilled them afterwards.
  • Due to the mysterious loft function of FreeCad, the trunk's opening was clogged, so I drilled that open, too
  • An attachment edge, hook or hole for a cable tie would be nice. See pictures.
  • The sketches/profiles used for lofting was made by trial and error, and that's one of the reasons it looks like a misfit.
You have probably already guessed I'm not a professional CAD drafsman, just a beer-brewing and -drinking engineer.
    Cheers!
