Summary

Parts for making a kayak front camera mount for pointy kayaks like the competition level K1 and the like. You will need to print one center piece, and 2x of the connector arm and 2x of the screw suction cup arm. It is recommended to use the connector arms from my models, even though standard GoPro connectors should work, just because of the tight fit. Make sure the parts are printed as full ABS plastic.

You can find the suction cups that have to be screwed on on Aliexpress or eBay by searching for "screw suction cup", and you will need a so called "hot shoe camera mount" the will go into the center piece.

Make sure to get as good of a suction cup as you can! 5cm diameter would be ideal. Pointing this out as there are a lot of low quality ones online.

This has a standard tripod 1/4 inch screw which is compatible with all cameras. If you wish to use a GoPro just buy a tripod mount adapter.

Make sure to put something soft under the center piece parts that will sit on the kayak to not scratch the boat!

Regarding screws, you don't need any fancy special GoPro type screws, just a bunch of corrosion resistant M5 screws with a length of 20mm and proper nuts that go along with them. No need to put those long GoPro screws with plastic arms as those will stick out and therefor be visible in the shots.

And, goes without saying, provide a failsafe with a rope or some fishing nylon that will not break loose if the camera were to drop from the mount for whatever reason.

Happy padding!
