On Reddit, u/ryankrameretc made a beautiful JWST mirror homage using wood and glass-mirror panels bought off Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JN5M37X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_txtbTKlOQcgLS). I really like it, and I am going to make my own version.
In the comments, several people asked for the CNC file to build the mirror, and seeing that the OP did not do so, I took it upon myself to quickly model the build using the dimensions of the mirrors given on Amazon and provide it freely to all.
This build assumes that you have bought the mirror sections off of amazon. You will need to buy two orders worth to obtain 18 total mirrors.
The back panel is, in theory, made of wood. If you have something like a Shapeoko you can use the included Step files to cut the outline in wood or whatever material you desire.
In order that the mirror sections will be centered and positioned correctly, there is a 1mm inset in the wall panel in the correct shape to accept the mirror sections. However, I know that a perfect fit is not likely, so I added 10 thousandths all around the mirrors to give a little space for fitment. If the mirrors from Amazon are too large, they may need to be shaved down a bit.
I should add that I am not expecting anyone to 3D print this as it is fairly large and you cannot 3D print mirror sections anyway. Rather, this is a general manufacturing plan and materials choice is up to you. This one is designed to be made from wood and purchased mirror segments.
