Summary

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS, MEANING I TINKER WITH AND MAY UPDATE OR CHANGE IT AT ANY TIME

UPDATE
11/18/2024

V4.1 HOTFIX
rail work.
divot for ball bearing work.
model smoothing/repairs

UPDATE
11/17/2024

V4 added
Added 12 degree angles.
Reworked model for easier printing.
Added Speaker holes.
Added Charging port hole.
Tried to make it fit the oneplus12 (as mentioned below) but also tried to make it fit generic devices, maybe with some padding added.
Area where phone inserts is ROUGHLY L80.159mm X H12.202mm
Ender5 gcode included

V4 is specifically designed for the Oneplus12 with the Spigen case here:
https://www.spigen.com/collections/oneplus-series/products/oneplus-12-series-ultra-hybrid?variant=42090662953007
My guess, is that it will also fit similar Spigen cases, too.

Oneplus12R/Ace, and many devices are very similar in size, so maybe it'll fit those while case equipped also?? Or other similar sized case equipped phones. Print with PETG for flexibility.
Area where phone inserts is ROUGHLY L80.159mm X H12.202mm

Thanks to everyone for their patience!
Its not perfect, but I'll keep at it. Any and all advice appreciated.

UPDATE
1/23/2020

  • Added a 0.15mm longer version for users who feel it it too tight on their phone w/Arctech Pro case -Printed @ 60 percent speed
    • Added a 0.2mm shorter version for possible use with Tudia case - Printed @ 60 percent speed

UPDATE
1/22/2020

  • V2 ADDED!
    • Printed @ 60 percent speed
    • Print infill increased to 25 percent
    • Thicker walls around snap ins to preserve strength.
    • Little divots to help keep it together better as a small controller.
    • The little button the bearing clicks into reworked, for a more secure, slide-on click, along the rails.
    • Work around rail area, reducing the risk off controllers accidentally sliding off during more active gameplay. Let me know if its to tight, be specific! As no two printers print alike.
    • Reworked fit for Pro case, shouldn't be SO snug now, but still secure! Let me know how it is, be specific!
    • Added RAZER snake logo

UPDATE V1 #2
1/16/2020

  • Fixed a rookie mistake, where an object was missed in the grouping. Affected left controller.

UPDATE V1 #1
1/16/2020

  • Made some adjustments to the left side mount, to make them connect together better.
Let me know if it connects together loosely, and I'll tighten it up.

I was sick and tired of removing my case every time I wanted to get some good game time in.
I also don't like the provided Junglecat cases; as it made my phone hot. It also blocked other things. Plus, removing my nice expensive case to use that flimsy one seemed like a bad idea in general.
An added frustration was if I was out and about, that meant I had to carry and keep track of an extra case, plus the piece that the Junglecat hooks into when not on the phone.
I'm not that organized.

So, I decided to come up with an original solution, as there weren't any Junglecat mods available to date.
After lots of measuring, failed prints, frustration, a huge learning curve and some eyeballing, this is what I came up with....

  • Eliminates the need of the specific Junglecat case, adds compatibility, and also the little piece between the controllers.
  • Designed so that it slides onto sides of a case enabled phone
  • When you want a handheld controller, simply take them off the phone, push them together and Voilà!
  • Doesn't interfere with wireless charging, cooling devices, speakers or camera!
  • An unintended surprise bonus of the design made the handheld controller much more comfortable on both pinkie and pointer fingers. Allowing for longer more comfortable game-play. (for me, at least)

I just got a 3D printer, and this is my 1st real design. Preceded only by a remix of a cooling control grip and an original landscape wireless dock. All for the RAZER Phone 2.

I hope you like it, and my "green" doesn't show through too much!
