This is my IR turret on treads. This is a "Hack" of the HackPack IR turret - Box #1, it also uses components from the Domino Robot - Box 2 (i.e. DC Motors and H-bridge) for the drive system.
The files included here should be what you need to print the treads, tread frames and chassis. I used 3.5mm heated inserts to connect "Tread Frame" to the "Tread Frame Outside" but I also included a piece called "Frame outside just screw" for small screws HOWEVER I have not tested this yet and do not know if it works. Alternatively (I suppose) you could use super glue to hold the pieces together.
Assembly should be straight forward using the plastic bolts included for the leg assemblies from original turret.
I included a rail at the bottom of the chassis piece for any mods, the holes are 5.5mm large (to accommodate plastic screws from hackpack) and 10mm spaced apart. I also added small holes for 5mm magnets in Tread Frame Outside and plan on designing a cover that can pop on and off using said magnets
I plan on posting this on the HackPack discord where I'll go more in depth and include the code(I hope)
Update 8/11/24:
Added files called "Tread Frame using bolts" and "Tread Frame using Bolts Outside" as well as "track frame bolt spacer" and "tread frame bolt washer" - These are the files for a Tread Frame assembly which uses bolts from the domino Robot as opposed to using heated inserts. So now, using parts from the HackPack IR Turret and Domino Robot, this 'Hack' is fully 3d printable!
