Spreader plate for tripod legs to fix them in the open condition, helps stabilise tripod and reduce vibration, particularly useful for extremely long exposures used in astrophotography.
To install the plate you will also need a female to female 3/8-16 thread coupler and a length of 3/8-16 threaded bar or stud. You can utilise the weight hook that comes with the tripod to fix it in place.
The tripod specs state the legs are at an angle of 69° to the ground, however on measurement mine was 65° so I have used this as the angle for the design.
