I find the factory dial knob on the Original Prusa i3 MK3 printer a bit tiny and awkward to fiddle around with. So I set out to design a "better" and more ergonomic one. I was inspired by the serrated dial knobs often found on vintage electronic appliances.
This knob not only has serrations which make it easier to grab and turn, but also has a chamfered edge to make it more comfortable to touch. It has a depression on top like the original so that it's easy to push down.
While the knob was designed for the Prusa printer, it can be used as a generic dial for any potentiometer with a 6mm diameter shaft.
If you find this part useful, please consider a Designer Tip – this helps me to keep the filament flowing :)
