Summary

This is a replacement pulley for my IBM Selectric III typewriter. It should fit other models, not just the III. The original one was cracked, causing the belt to skip a tooth on every rotation which made a huge racket. To install, I removed the old one from the typewriter, pressed it off the hub with a drill press, heated the hub with a torch, then pushed the hot hub into the new pulley. It will melt the plastic and form to the knurling on the hub. It is fully installed when the bottom inside of the pulley sits flush with the bottom of the hub (see the 4th picture.) While it is hot you will have some time to rotate the hub from all angles and make sure that the pulley is square with the hub. You will probably have to do some slight sanding or trimming of the other side of the pulley so it doesn't interfere with the cycle clutch when installed in the typewriter.
