The file 'Huntsman Spider 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 3.8MB.
Modelled off a Huntsman Spider, this easy to print, life size spider is perfect to freak out those loved ones.
The legs are thin and there are added tabs to help them stick down, you can cut them off later.
The spider scales up well and can be printed bigger and scarier!
Shaping:
I shaped the legs after printing, pouring boiling water into a shallow dish and placing the spider in there, waiting for the plastic to soften.
Once softened, quickly pluck out the spider and start bending the legs at the joints.
You can do this multiple times, and if you're careful, you can pour boiling water onto individual legs and shape them.
A soldering iron can also be used to bend the legs, by just slightly melting the bottom of the joints and quickly bending them into shape. You have a little more control with this method, but it takes longer.
Hairs!:
Using Stringy filament or settings to increase the stringiness of the print will make more realistic and scaryer. Use scissors or clippers to trim the hairs short.
Suggestions and tips welcome!
Enjoy!
