Summary

How I made a silent box for the Bambu Lab P1P 3D printer. Not perfect, but better than before. There are still things that need to be improved.

  • hinges IKEA HJÄLPA ... 6 € (4 pieces)

  • power supply 12V, 36W ... 13 €
  • LED strip 1m ... 15 €
  • LED profile 1m ... 5 €
  • power extension 220V cord 3m ... 5 €

  • PC fan ARCTIC P12 Slim PWM PST ... 7€

  • smart relay Shelly 1 ... 30 € (2 pieces)
  • Shelly AddOn ... 17 €

  • temperature sensor DS18B20 ... 5 €

  • high density acustic foam 180kg/m3 ... 60 € (2 m2) ... buy 3cm, max 4cm thick.

  • some other stuff (12v cables, contact cement, glue ...)

So more than 200 €, little bit more than i hoped for. But it is, what it is.

Things to improve:

  • put load resistor on the fan (unnecessarily noisy, work well so can go slower)
  • locking mechanism on doors, foam push it a little bit out
  • maybe a little more stable mat in place of the printer legs
