Summary

Here is my design of a Prusa Hot End pen holder!
There are no Supports needed for this print and you also won't need the MMU for a colored print, the color change is purely layer based.

And don‘t worry, you pens won‘t melt! :-)

Assembly guide:

  1. Print both .amf files. I recommend to have at least 3-4 perimeters for the nozzle. You can use your slicer to set up a layer based filament change to have it in different colors like my version.
  2. Simply click all 16 lamellas into the heat sink body. You shouldn't need glue.
  3. Hold the nozzle with one hand and twist the hot end in.
Do not twist the stand as the weakest link is where the nozzle touches the groundplate.
  4. Do not overtighten, there is supposed to be a gap between the nozzle and the heater block just like you know it from your printer :-)
  5. Enjoy your pen holder!

Prusa owners can also find a ready to print gcode files on PrusaPrinters.
