Summary

First and foremost, this design is a remix and was inspired by the original Horus Kestrel.

I had printed, built, and flew the original from grabcad.com and it was very fun to fly. However, I noticed some play in the rear part of the air-frame when performing yaw movements. For a printed vtail frame this is certainly to be expected. This is my attempt to mitigate but will admit it is not nearly as good as a rigid CF frame.

The only parts that differ from the original are:

  1. Tail Plate
  2. Main Body
  3. Base Plate
  4. Top Plate
  • Tail plate had been widened near the vblock section and has a M3 tie in to the main body
  • Main body has been extended near the rear to support the tie in to the tail plate, and includes M3 tie-ins to the top plate near the front and rear of the airframe
  • Top plate rear notch has been removed - adding in support for the tie in to the main body and includes additional zip tie slots to mount equipment on the top or bottom.
  • Base plate has the word HORUS removed - my printers continued to make a mess for some reason trying to print this.
