The file 'HOPPIS: Hex-organizer-plant-pot-interlocking-system 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 4.3 MB.
I was fed up with stuff laying around my desk at work.
I fiddled around with different designs in Solidworks until I saw dto26's drawer system. I always liked hexagons and how you could combine them to create different shapes.
Starting from there I created different variants of hexagons to find the best interlocking mechanism. It interlocks so good, that I had to use quite some force to slide the different parts into each other. Your printer has to be very precise, or you have to use a slicer like Simplify3D where you can define a value to compensate any inaccuracy. The wall-thickness is set to 1.4mm.
Besides the standard hexagon I also designed two bigger trays consisting of three hexagons, a lid for a paperclip-tray (insert magnets in the two 6mm holes) and a large plant-pot with an additional watering-insert.
Each filename contains the hight of the modul.
The plant-pot modul consists of two seperate bodys. The outer pot and an insert, which is supposed to prevent mold or wet soil. It's possible to seperate these bodys and print them in different colours, just like I did.
