Summary

This can help lots to add a door to your mailbox, to stay on the side walk, and not have to go into the street to get your mail.

Surely need to use PETG filament, or some material that is high temperature, since in the Sunshine, and being on a container that can build up even more heat, PLA or other filaments that print around 200 degrees C, shall lose strength and melt a bit during highest heat in the summer.

The sizing on this can be difficult to get right. The front of a mail box can actually be bigger than the back, tapered, so it can more easily be plastic injection manufactured. So, as I made this door for the back of our mailbox, I may have had to measure and scale down the original design.

I should also be posting a handle that was made specifically for this mailbox door.

The larger holes for mounting, let you lift the door up, to latch and unlatch the lock tab on the inside. So you likely need washers to retain this, with such large mount holes.

However, the fit TO YOUR MAILBOX, might need different hole positions, so there is a design here with minimal holes, as a starting place, to see where to make and line up holes you put in, to get the door, to fit and function to your mailbox.
