I made a motor gear that fits the axle of the 28BYJ-48 5V stepper motor. In my case it was a press fit, so the M3 grub screw may be optional. I also modified the motor mount to allow for the motor bearing collar.
Currently, this is a design in progress, and I have not made a final build yet. The 28BYJ-48 stepper also needs a modified solution for the electronics, so it is not compatible with the solution from ekaggrat.
