Summary

This is an end bracket to a PVC support for the Hobie 18 Magnum Wings. This keeps the wings from rubbing against the mast diamond wires while on a trailer.

I used PLA for the prints with the walls, top and bottom set to 1.2mm thick and the infill set to 15% grid with interconnected lines. It shouldn't need supports.

To make the support you will need:

  • a few feet of 2" PVC pipe
  • (1) tee slip fitting
  • (2) 45° elbow slip fittings
  • 1" nylon tie-down strap
You will also need to print the Wing Support and a mirror of it.

Cut the pipe into five pieces. On my setup: the vertical piece is about 9" long and the other four pieces are about 6" long.
Put the long piece of PVC pipe into the bottom of the tee fitting.
Put a 6" piece of pipe into each side of the tee fitting.
Put a 45° elbow on each side piece of pipe.
Put another 6" piece inside each 45° elbow fitting.
Put a print on the ends of the sloped pipes.
Thread the nylon strap through the print, top pipes and fittings, and out the mirror print.
The PVC pipe and fittings can be glued but the strap does a good enough job of holding everything together well enough.
