Summary

This hinge is heavily inspired by "Charnière" by ThierryEz. I re-modeled it and customized it to my specific project.

  • This hinge features one-piece printing design, without the need for post-assembly.
  • The hinge can be opened all the way to 90° and closed all the way to 360° (see pictures).
  • It features 3 countersunk Ø5,5mm nominal holes on each side, intended for M5 screws.
  • When laying flat the hinge measures 50x90mm nominal.

After print you gently brake the two parts free from each other around the pivot, so that they can move and function as a hinge.

The nominal gap between the parts in the pivot is 0,2mm. I found that perfect for my printer and settings; it was easy to brake the parts free from each other without risking breaking the plastic, and no slack between the parts can be felt when operating the hinge.

In the files there are versions with smaller nominal gap - 0,1mm and 0,15mm - if you find the 0,2mm gap too generous.

Print laying flat on bed. No post printing operation needed, apart from gently braking the two halfs free to pivot against each other.
