This is a remix of bigjim36's Light Panels:

I have redesigned the hex's for specific placement in my design. Some have 1 channel, some 2, some 3. Depending on your geometric layout, these may work for you. I steered away from the circular holes that you need to thread the RGBIC strip through in lieu of having an open channel to lay the light strip into. Then there are 'locks' that can be glued in place to complete and support the assembly and hold the white panels in place.
Additional edits to the model place holes on either side of an opening for quick alignment and assembly. I used superglue for all joints and hot glue and superglue to hold the light strip and panels in place. I also used 1/8" (3mm diameter) x 1/4" (6mm grip) steel rivets to hold everything together. The light strip used in the original thing is still installed in the same manner, but the structure is strengthened and is easier to assemble.
For my specific design, I used:
5 x RGBIC-Box-1.stl
1 x RGBIC-Box-2.stl (where the LED strip enters the structure)
4 x RGBIC-Box-3.stl
10 x LedPanelLid1mm.stl
18 x RGBIC-Box-Lock.stl
I printed all parts at 100% for sturdiness. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me.
