This is a helmet hanger designed to hold large motorcycle helmets, but it would work for smaller bicycle helmets great. I designed it so that it can be securely mounted on a standard 2x4 board. (1.5" / 3.5" inch) Use 2 bugle head screws to fasten it to the board.
For example, if you have a shed or garage with no insulation and just bare wood boards, this is perfect.

I recommend at least 3 wall thickness.
