This custom lens housing is optimized for Helios-44-2 58mm f2, and depending on its characteristics, this lens has several variations. There are 44M, 44-2 and 44-4, but due to the different shape or position of the aperture adjustment ring, this housing may not fit.

The history, features, and specifications of this famous Russian lens are quite well known, so there is no need to add any explanation.

It wasn't my favorite lens, but there were many who requested cine rehousing of this lens. So I bought a new lens in Russia, and after a long wait the parcel arrived a few days ago. The aperture adjustment ring is on the front of the lens, and the structure of the narrow lens bag makes it suitable for retrofitting to PL mounts. The process of switching to the PL mount was quite interesting, so I had a great time. I wanted to share this fun with many people, so I made a boring video.

In order to increase the completeness of the Lens re-housing, it is recommended to purchase and use some ready-made metal Parts. (3D printing is obviously lacking in terms of durability and stability.) Several grub screws (M4 x 3mm), M42-EF conversion adapter, and 49-82mm step-up filter ring are used. It is an essential part of the device, and since the lens re-housing is designed on the premise that these parts are prepared, it may not function properly without this part.
