A helical staircase as an inset for 4x4 inch quad rooms. The preview version was a round helix worming through the solid. In keeping with the high gothic aesthetic, this time I used a lighter build, a filleted rectangle hugging the walls, leaving more floor space on the landings and the stair itself. Also, the open architecture makes it easier to see & paint the interior, and it leaves an open central shaft, which provides a more dramatic viewpoint - and similarly dramatic drops as a tabletop set piece, so make sure your game system supports falling damage.
