I began looking for a filament storage/dispenser box and found many. Most had the PVC supports which, although functional, are a pain when you need to change out an empty spool. After considering sever roller designs, i decided to try ant0ni0's Filament Storage - Quick Change design. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:859426
Unfortunately, the his supports would not fit in the AWSOME storage container that I found at Walmart: "Hefty PROTECT Heavy Duty Storage, 20 Qt. Lid with Protective Seal / Clear"
I started to tweak his mesh and quickly became frustrated (with my own mesh editing ability) and realized it would be faster, for me, to model the thing from scratch. I added enough clearance over the support for a 8x30x10 u-groove roller if I decide to splurge in the future. (although I believe the friction of the printed roller will help me prevent a mess when a spool freewheels after an abrupt tug...)
Also Needed:
(2) 8 mm (5/16") rods x 340mm (13.375")
Update:
I enlarged the ID of the roller for clearance on an 8 mm rod.
Update #1
I added dottom22's Filament Enclosure Tap (1.75mm):
