The file 'Heading Indicator For Fligh Simulator 3D Printer Model' is (stl, dwg, pdf, fcstd) file type, size is 1.9MB.
With this instrument I complete the 6 basic indicators for a airplane cockpits.
It's work in progress, I need to fine tune some things, but it is usable.
I do not solve the initial position or the needles of disk, neither make the arduino software to manage it, i will do in a future an update this description.
You need 2 encoders and 2 motors type 28BJY
You need one or two bearing type 608.
Make the glass with the marks using vinyl electrical insolation tape and a transparent sheet
In the PDF in files you can found the wind-rose, the indications on the handles that you can cut and paste in the pieces and a guide for put the marks in the glass.
"Build.stl" is not for print, is only to have a 3D view on thingiverse web page.
You will need two prints of "eje_mando.stl" and "mando.stl"
you need to print only "rose.stl" or "rose_1.stl" plus "rose_2,stl", use high filling on rose.stl.
mount the rose, needle1, needle2 and the mandatory bearing can be a little tricky, use cyano to glue needle1 to needle2
you need 5 screw:
This gauge is intended to mount on a panel of a minimun of 4.5mm thick (typical wood) if you mount on metal panel, or mount in the back, you will need to use a aditional separator, you can download from my other instruments.
This is almost open-source, remenber: if you modify it, you must publish the changes.
