Summary

Put on a "Happy Face" powered face mask.

NOTE:
Please don't comment on the need for face masks in this Covid-19 world we are in.
If you don't want to wear a face mask, then don't.
But I am a 63 year old asthmatic, and am at high risk for poor outcome if I get infected.

This face mask is designed to provide filtered air into a baseball cap mounted face shield.

The mask has a clear PET face shield and a skirt of melt-blown Polyethylene fabric to seal
the face shield to your face.

A standard USB 75mm by 50mm blower fan is used to suck air through a standard blue face mask which is mounted on the intake cylinder. TPU seals hold the mask material to
ensure that only filtered air enters the Happy Face mask.

A standard 1000mAh USB power bank will provide up to 8 hours of freedom from overheating.

The goal of this mask is two fold:

  1. Allow people to see your face. What a concept!

  2. Reduce heat fatigue for workers in hot environments, like kitchen staff, and outdoor workers who must wear masks. By providing fresh air, you keep from re-breathing your hot exhaled air.

There are several 3D files listed originally.
The two assembly files are for visualization purposes only. If you want to print this for yourself, you will need to print 8 total parts. 5 from PETG, 3 from TPU for the sealing of the mask.

Here are the parts to print:

PETG total 5 parts:

FaceShield_V5_w_helpers.3mf

This is the main Happy Face frame, with added helper pieces bridging the two arches of the shield to prevent it from warping off the build plate. You will need supports for the centers of the arches, and the frame of the fan intake.

Note: V4 was replaced with V5 on 10-3-2020. V5 has grooves for mounting the cloth skirt seal which are curved at the ends to envelop the top of the baseball cap.

This is the adapter duct to align the fan intake of the mask with the output opening of the
75 X 30mm blower fan.

IntakeCylinder.stl

This is the PETG filter cylinder which has the modified blue face mask mounted on it to
filter intake air to the blower fan.

filtermount_prusa_102pc.3mf

This is the mounting ring for the filter/fan assembly. It was designed in Openscad, modified with 3D Builder, and then enlarged to 102 percent to allow clearance for the TPU seal ring.

5.
filtersupport_merged_102pc_V4.3mf

This part is mounted to the top opposite the fan to support the filter/fan assembly for stability.

Bottom_Seal_102pc.3mf

This is the seal which holds the edge of the modified blue filter mask to the intake cylinder, as well as sealing the intake cylinder to the intake of the fan. It was designed in Openscad and then scaled to 102 percent for clearance to the intake cylinder.

This is the end seal for the intake cylinder, also scaled to 102 percent.

SideSeal.stl

This TPU part seals the side edges of the modified blue face mask and holds it onto
the intake cylinder. It has three tapered studs which are pulled into the holes in the intake cylinder to mount it in place.
