I was trying to cut some 3mm mdf for decoration. the need in particular was to do some parallel cuts to the border of the mdf. with the intention to prevent physical exhaustion i planned to use my brand new falcon creality 10w laser engraver/cutter, but the size of the printer was too small, so built this.
is good for those paralell cuts and for some circular cuts is you create some pivotal guide.
the main difficulty was to keep a steady pace and don't burn the mdf. that is why i ended up using a threaded bar with a wireless drill because didn't had a step by step motor and and belt.
additionally i used 3 M5 screw and nuts
and 5mm threaded bar as rail and a corresponding nut
