Based loosely on the designs of actual hand-mixers, this model of an everyday household appliance model is no common 3D print. With more than 20 parts (many of which actually move), the Hand Mixer is a great project for advanced 3D printing enthusiasts and anyone interested in product design.
3D Design Services by MakerBot created the Hand Mixer to showcase some of the intricate possibilities that 3D printing can bring to the industrial design, prototyping, and product design processes.
Our designers expertly crafted it to gracefully enclose mechanical components, simulate color breakups/over-molding, and reliably print on a MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer while featuring realistic replications of the machine’s components — including the control dial, worm gears, motor assembly (magnets, shaft, cooling fan), shell, mounting bosses, and screw bosses.
All pieces print without support.
