Summary

When I saw the Ghostly Vinyl contest, I immediately wanted to make a working record player.

This is a printable hand-cranked record player for vinyl discs.

All pieces for this record player are neatly aligned and designed to fit in a 15x15x15cm cube, and print beautifully on the Replicator 2, without any rafting or supports.

Once all the pieces are printed, It assembles in about 5 minutes. Then you just add a little glue to make sure nothing flies of as it spins and you're ready to go.

You will only need to add a piece of paper, some sticky tape and a needle for the amplifier, and a little bit of glue. For the deluxe edition, you can also get some tiny felt squares and glue them down to the square top, which will reduce friction noise and scratching (though the turntable is lifted off the plate by design).

It will play all sorts of records as it is adjustable, though 78rpm records are recommended, it's difficult to crank at slower speeds (everything will sound very high pitch).

Here is an assembly video which demonstrates assembly:

And here's a very rough demo (the STL files online will generate a better crank than what I have on my test print):

Edit:
Version 2 is coming Before Jan 20! Much clearer sound and easier to turn. Here's a video of it from an interview I did for a local paper: http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/gadgets/64155549/kiwis-3dprinted-record-player-a-worldwide-hit.html
