Summary

Spruce up your Up-Do with a Hair Dangle!

Warning These files were some of the hardest prints I've done (after the Cherry tree prints). It took several tries before finding a set of parameters that would work some of the time for my system and the material I was using.

Files:

  • Hair Dangle P1 & P2 will produce the full piece as seen. However, P2 is JUST the little dongle bits, so if you like just chain, you can use just P1 to get a very similar piece.
  • 3MF - I've included the successful 3MF file used on my Bambu
  • Small Hair Dongle is a three-string, larger chain, half ring version of the full P1 & P2 version
  • Sldprt - is a Solidworks / Onshape part if you want to modify the original model. Note that the P2 dongle isn't included. If you wish to play around with that file, it can be found in the PreviousVersion Sldprt.

Note: I don't think you can create this two-color part by switching color after the chain ends because I expect the dongles will just pop off the chain. The two part actually has the dongle piece embedded a few layers into the chain so that the two different materials have more surface area contact. With the extra cooling from the time it takes to switch colors, I think the interface of barely a millimeter of contact will be too weak to hold well.
