My son has a cage for his guinea pig and one of the door latches broke. Figured I'd try to print a new one. It worked! Only a few minor tweaks necessary from the initial draft (pictured in photo). The uploaded file has a slightly larger space to "grab" the bar, a slightly larger handle, and it's a little more narrow so it slides easier. Not bad for my first design! (Sketchup, free version). I should add that I swapped the printed latch for one lower down, so that the printed latch is at the top of the cage where the pig can't reach it. Can't imagine PLA would be toxic to guinea pigs, but no reason to chance it.
