The file '.grip Hollow Handle 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 7.2MB.
This is a modified handle for the .grip Modular Model and Miniature Painting Handle, made hollow with a screw-in plug.
While the .grip system is an excellent overall design, it occurred to me that it would end up balanced top-heavy, especially if using the vice or painting a largish model. This modification allows the user to add ballast to the handle (coins, stones, souls of the vanquished... you know, stuff just lying around) to shift the center of gravity considerably lower. Add more or less depending on your tastes or desire to keep the handle from being too heavy and causing muscle fatigue.
Final note: This was my first foray into Blender and an excellent project to start learning the program (I have a background in vector design with some Sketchup experience... that was almost more a hindrance than a help). If you print and use this, know that it is the cause of the many dents in my forehead from smashing my head against my desk repeatedly. I got there in the end, but the screen was a little blurry by that point.
Final final note (really!): For the detail connoisseurs out there, please note that the plug uses similar soda bottle cap threads (PCO 1881) as the .grip itself does for it's cap holder. I only point this out because I was determined to make it so, and I stuck to my guns... even when the dents in my forehead whispered seductively for me to stop and give up. By that point I could no longer see the color blue, so I figured if I had already sacrificed so much I may as well keep going and get something in exchange for my loss. Good thing I had a spool of gray lying around, as you can see in the preview picture above.
