This is a replacement light fixture holder for US made Grand Venture blow mold decorations made from the 1970's - 90's. Particularly, their large size decorations that have a 2.5” hole for a cap that holds a lightbulb socket. These vintage decorations are fairly common, in the US and Canada, though often over-priced and missing their light fixture. The original socket is shockingly poorly made (yes, a bad pun, photo of socket is posted). After seeing a shorted socket, I decided improvement was necessary.

I posted four versions of the replacement lighting cap STL. Two have a 35.5mm hole designed to fit a pre-made water-proof exterior socket with cord. V2 has a lock tab, like the original. This requires support. V3 is mounted with two screws, no support needed and is a thinner cap. The fixture below fits snugly enough that you twist the cap on as though you are threading it. The “PLAIN” STL, and V4 have no cutout for a socket, or cord, so a user can alter it to their specifications. PLAIN has a tab needing support, V4 is screw mounted and needs no support in printing.

Wall thickness of blow mold decoration opening varies so it may be necessary to dress the edge opening of decoration itself if a tabbed cap is used.

I printed at 100% in PETG. Caps with locking tabs should use a fairly weak support to allow easy removal of the support.
