I wanted a phone mount that I could use with my GoPro grip. I found the "Easy Smartphone Gopro Mount" by Heliox. It was a good design, but the extension mechanism was too thin, making the mount wobbly and flimsy and caused my phone to drop.
I decided to make some improvements to the design to make the mount stronger. I started from scratch with Fusion 360 and made further edits with OpenSCAD. I widened the extension mechanism and made it a wedge shape so that it will not drop out from the base.
Both parts can be 3D printed without supports. To make it stronger, I used "50%" infill and "4" vertical shell perimeters.
The mount should be able to hold phones with a width of 62mm to 92mm (including case).
