This is Glock 19 Gen5 training barrel. I believe it is compatible with a Gen5 Glock 17, all versions of the Glock 19, Glock 26, and Glock 45. I always like having dummy barrels around when doing hands on gun safety lessons. Prevents stupid people from doing stupid stuff. I have real training barrels but wanted to see if I could design one for the masses that would make them more available. It kind of worked.
I have attached two versions. Version 1 has the locking lugs on the bottom of the barrel that are a close match for the real thing. However, with the standard guide rod and spring, the lugs will break off after locking the slide back and letting it slam into battery several times. I tried to change a few small things with the lugs on the second version, but I doubt it will make much of a difference. If you are able to solve this dilemma, let me know.
I designed and printed my own version of a guide rod and spring to see if a lower power spring would allow this to function better. I got it to work, kind of. I have not found a spring long enough to allow me to lock the slide back with enough tension to snap the barrel up and into battery.
