The file 'GIRO.remix – TEVO Tarantula / 30mm Fan BLTouch Mount 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.5MB.
This is a remix of paul0's BLTouch mount for the TEVO Tarantula. This BLTouch mount must be mounted infront of the 30mm fan of the Chimera hotend. You might need longer M3 screws to mount it but the stock M3 screws worked pretty decent in my case. I replaced the M3 screws later with stainless steel M3 screws which had the same size of the stock M3 screws. Also be clear to mount the metal pin of the BLTouch exactly on the same position on the X-Axis like the position of the nozzle to avoid X-Axis offsets.
I added a cuboid to the back of paul0's mount to assure that the cables of the BLTouch will never hit the fan and destroy the cables. It is a very nice fitting if your Tarantula is well calibrated. If it's not then take a piece of sanding paper and make some additional space for the cables. They should move a bit in the position where they should be set into. Make sure not to destroy your cables while mounting the BLTouch. To mount the BLTouch you will need M3 screws and M3 nuts.
I also enlarged the wall of the holes where the M3 screws have to be screwed into the Chimera because I noticed that these areas tend to break if you screw the screws too tight to the hotend.
There are three versions available for this BLTouch mount depending on your fan duct. The first version is for the Gorilla fan duct without the Gorillagrill which is also usable for a lot of other fan ducts. The second version is for the Radial Fan Fang fan duct by Lion4H and the Gorilla fan duct with the Gorillagrill. The third version is for the Dual Blower fan duct by supasorn, which is also usable for the Single Blower fan duct. You need to make sure that your wiring goes to the left or ride side of the hotend.
Version 1.1
After some feedback I added additional support structures to improve the stability of the different BLTouch mountings.
Version 1.0
This was the first creation of the BLTouch mount.
I would highly recommend to use exactly 2 perimeters because otherwise some areas aren't going to get really solid. Print with a lower speed, for example 45 mm/s, to get a more accurate printing.
If you need some advice for the offset settings then I can give you the following tip as a first calibration step. You might need to change these offsets due to print quality and mounting differences.
Gorilla fan duct without grill (and several other)
#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0
#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -33
#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -0.77
Radial Fan Fang fan duct and Gorilla fan duct with grill
#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0
#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -35.5
#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -0.77
Dual/Single Blower fan duct
#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0
#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -36
#define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER -0.77
Let me know if there are any kind of problems with these BLTouch mountings. I will try to help and if neccessary correct the designs. I appreciate any kind of feedback to these mountings.
If you like my work and find it really usefull then I would be very happy if you give me a small tip as an appreciation for my work. For all of you who gave me a tip.
