Giving someone a gift card? Here's a fun way to do it. Thanks to "jijimath" for the inspiration to make this. You can see his box on Thingiverse #191974. My box is just the right size to hold a standard gift card plus room for some goodies or trinkets. The key is contained in its own hidden cubby inside the box. The ribbons hide the cubby and the keyhole. Christmas and Halloween versions are included. Assembly requires some super-gluing.
Key: Glue the two halves together. This makes for easy printing and a much stronger key.
Latch: Slip the hook into the casing then glue the casing to the bottom of the box. The hook should move back and forth but not so freely that it unlocks itself! The key will turn the hook.
Bows: Glue the bows (or leaves) over the post of the short ribbon. I stack three small bows on top of three large bows. If you want to put something else on top rather than bows or leaves just cut the post off. Use a hair dryer to soften the leaves then give them some shape with your fingers.
Beads: I use no-hole 14mm beads purchased on Amazon from a variety of vendors or you can print your own to make sure you get the color you want.
The pumpkin and the witch's hat are NOT my creations. Find the jack-o-lantern by Beums on Printables.com. I'm not sure who created the witch's hat but you can find it on Thingiverse 1083821 by liquidd. Some sanding/cutting required on the pumpkin to get the hat to sit right. Scale these items down as needed before printing.
