Christmas is getting closer and your tree is still empty? You're desperately searching for a unique present that can be 3d printed? Looks like we got something for you! :)

Baubles:

As you can see, there are three different versions of each design which are "hollow", "filled" and "split".
For the printed ornaments in the pictures we used the "filled" versions.
Resolution: 0.2 mm
Infill: 0 %
Material: PLA (dark blue by GalloPrint, lilac/ mystic green by Prusament and gold & silver silk by TINMORRY)
Perimeters: 2-3
Support: Definitely for the curved surface facing the bed (you won't necessarily need supports for the upper curvature). Now, here it gets tricky: in some cases with distances of 0 mm (Z) and 0.4 mm (XY) we were perfectly able to remove the breakaway supports without any residues on the surfaces. However, that highly depended on the filament... Just have a try to find out what works best for you and your material. And please let us know in the comments. :) If the surface still doesn't look as pretty, no worries, we got you. That's what the snowflakes are for. Here, you will need to drill a 7.5 mm hole into the middle of the messy part in the "filled" geometries. The "hollow" baubles already have two holes on both sides. You can also test the "split" versions for better surfaces which allow to simply be interlocked afterwards. The holes of the two halves should be facing upwards during the print.

Snowflakes:

Aren't they so cute? And also really convenient because, let's be honest: sometimes - despite our best efforts - parts such as the strongly curved baubles that need support structures keep looking a bit hideous. That's why we need some snowflakes to hide the flaws.
Resolution: 0.25 mm
Perimeters: 1
Extrusion width: 0.4 mm will give you the lovely lace-like structure on the bigger snowflake (we used a 0.4 mm nozzle but if you have a smaller one, feel free to use it).
You might want to increase the temperature of the bed and decrease the speed.
After printing, carefully remove the delicate snowflakes from your platform. Depending on how much of your ornament you need to cover, you can either use just the smaller snowflake that allows the attachment of a ribbon and has hooks to stay in the ornament. Or you can add the bigger snowflake right in between the smaller one and the bauble. When pressing the hooks into the 7.5 mm hole be careful not to break them. And now it gets fun: As you might have noticed, the snowflakes are rather thin which allows them to be easily re-shaped by heating them with a heat gun or hairdryer. Again, be careful while doing this, you don't want to damage the parts or your skin with the heat.

And that's it, now you and your loved ones have some classic, geometric decor for your tree, garland etc.
