This adapter plate mounts in an untraditional fashion where it mounts by tension via 4x ball spring plungers to keep the HeadUnit mounted. It is a strong hold, it will never accidentally release, but it could be potentially pulled out by thieves. Personally I have enjoyed the ease of being able to access behind the stereo without having to remove so many screws and plastic shrouds from the stock setup.
