This is my new mount for my Folger Tech 2020 i3 with V-Slot X axis. My goals for this design were 3-fold. I wanted an on-axis extruder for flexible filaments. Keep the hot-end up to preserve Z build height, and keep the weight as close to the rail as possible. I have 195mm of Z-travel, Flex works great, and I am happy with the center of gravity, especially when compared to other designs. Goals accomplished!
This is adapted from Sonnylowe's excellent work on the V-Slot mini-gantry mount. Many thanks to him!
I am using the original drive block from the FT 2020 kit. I have another version that incorporates a printed drive block. Check my other things for that.
The sensor this is built for is this one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008FZC8F2
I'm using an E3D Lite6 hotend. I have a short length of PTFE tube that goes from the very bottom of the drive block to through the mount, and into the hotend, providing support for nearly the entire length of the post-drive gear run. Flex filaments work well.
