I always wanted to try FPV on a fixed wing airplane. Given that I am a student, living in a small appartement just having access to a 3D-Printer, leads to the following requirements to this design:

  • cheap
  • small
  • printable
  • simple

Furthermore, I want to keep it fast repairable with FPV-Racing in mind. Would be awesome if there will be some racing with this one.

  • (VTX) TBS unify pro32 nano (alternative)
  • (CAM) BETAFPV C02 FPV Micro Camera (alternative)

The Battery Guide:

300mAh Battery

  • Flight time 3-6 min
  • More agile flight performance
  • Lower cursing speed

good for Racing/Freestyle

550mAh Battery

  • Flight time 7-11 min
  • Higher Top- and Cruising speed
  • increases turn radius

good for cruising/"range" flights


Print Settings

I also uploaded the Curaprofil used with my AnyCubic Vyper. These settings are essential for the wings, elevons and winglets.
Also try to over extrude the initial layer so that it will have a strong cohesion and I also recommend to print the first layer at ~25mm/s

Use Top/Bottom Line direction [-61,-151] for the left wing and [0,90] or [90,0] for everything else. I also recommend horizontal expansion of -0.05 for all parts!

You might need to scale the models 10x. (At least in Cura and Prusa - do not let Prusa convert it to [mm]). The elevons are only for replacement the wing already has one attached.


In case of scaling issues

The dimension (X)x(Y)x(Z) of the parts in [mm] :

  • Base : 70x84.1x15.1
  • Wing : 207x178x10.3
  • Winglet : 1.8x86x31.2
  • Elevon : 165x21.1x10.3
  • Rod : 9.1x52.5x1.5
  • Tools : 71x64.9x18

The additional zip file contains:

  • a stripped down (light) version base part
  • .obj export of both base part versions
  • the base with 9mm diameter mounting holes for different motors
  • wing with top and bottom splitted
  • wing version with only the frame
  • prusa project configuration
  • base with custom camera connector (_v2)
