Tailgate Letters for the Fifth Generation Ford Ranger.
Print in ABS or ASA. I recommend printing the letters face down so that you end up with a smooth outward facing surface. FWIW, I print on a glass sheet. The models are 1mm thick and print relatively quickly, but you could probably get by with less thickness (like 0.5-0.75mm)
I painted my letters with VHT Epoxy Black Satin. I used automotive trim contact adhesive to adhere the letters to the tailgate. I applied the contact adhesive with a small brush to both the tailgate and the letters, wait a bit, then apply.
The letters have been on the truck for several months and are holding up well.
I designed these by reverse engineering a photo of the tailgate and then used InkScape to vectorize the lettering outlines. These were then scaled and extruded in Z in Openscad.
Enjoy.
